(SMCLA) Social Media Club Los Angeles - LA

The events generally begin with check-in and name tags, general networking, the panel/presentations, then more networking as people slowly leave. Attire was casual to business casual. Attendees were in their 30's or so and primarily in in media, advertising, marketing and related fields. I look forward to their next event.

I've attended two events now and both have been very different in their execution and topic: Read more about (SMCLA) Social Media Club Los Angeles - LA »

Startups Uncensored

I attended 1/19/10's "Building an Online Brand" with panelists Sean Moriarty, former CEO of TicketMaster, and Blake Irving, a former Corporate Vice President at Microsoft. Jason hosts the panel and leads them through the discussion and Q&A. It's informative, honest and at times irreverent. The venue is excellent for this type of event and is packed. Expect to stand in line regardless of whether you RSVP'd prior - although make use of your time and network!

Criterion Resources

I attended their joint evening networking event with Pink Slip Mixers on 12/8 which was attended by about two dozen people, and included light food and soft drinks. Earlier that day they held a "Job Seeker Seminar & Fundraiser for Penny Lane Centers". I was told it was quite good as they had a number of speakers on different topics. They had a raffle. Attire was business casual and up.

Digital LA

Their "Digital Drinks" are more social, generally younger, have name tags, and have a party atmosphere. The "Panels" are more professional and more mature. I have an update to this review forthcoming...
