The Networking Guide - Building Relationships, Building Success.

This is a FREE resource. We help you find the right networking opportunity for you - for Job Search, Networking, Referrals, Business Development & Sales, and Professional Development.  Search our database of networking organizations and events, read our reviews, check our calendar of events, and engage in conversation within our community.

The Networking Guide started 9/15/09 as a post on Todd’s Blog (new link) covering the greater Los Angeles area. The content was expanded and improved about weekly from that point, and gained a few thousand visitors per month.

The new Networking Guide site launched 5/8/10 at with 60 events (mostly recurring) and 192 organizations, of which a few dozen are reviewed (with another dozen on the way!). We've broadened beyond LA nationally and internationally.

Features of the new site:

  • Organization listings and reviews are completely reformatted for ease of use
  • Events with dates, times and locations!
  • Registered as a user (only need a valid email address*)
  • User profiles to describe your networking goals (for registered users)
  • Better search (and Advanced Search for registered users)
  • Keyword tagging of organizations and events
  • Improved commenting (for registered users)
  • Calendar of events
  • Map of events and organizations
  • Locate organizations and events by “Geography”
  • Subscribe to the weekly Newsletter (Opt-in only*)
  • Networking News and Articles
  • RSS Feeds in a variety of areas

* We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information.

Features coming soon:

  • iCal Calendar feed (to use with your favorite online calendar, like Google Calendar)
  • Author your own reviews (see below for more information)
  • User customizations to make the site easier for you (like your default geographic location)
  • Faceted Search (even more advanced searching to make it easier to find what you’re looking for)
  • And more!

Review Authors will soon be able to get:

  • A byline (of course!)
  • Follow-me links (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc)
  • Twitter profile widget (show you Twitter Updates on your profile and blog page)
  • Their own (topic-appropriate) Blog
  • Visibility - the review will be posted to our RSS Feeds, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn group, and more!
